mic, 2016 03 22: A number of effect presets need some fixing. For example, there are effects labeled with "bounce" in the delay that do not actually bounce between the left and right channel. The spatial echo spatial reverb presets in the echo need to be switched. Two chorus presets are the same, and so on.

This was resolved with Orinj version 2.5.2. The fix was uploaded on March 22, 2016. Here is a quick list of changes:

  • delay – there were a couple of bounce presets that did not bounce, as the right and left parameters were the same.
  • echo – there were a couple of presets that should have had the same parameters in both channels. The spatial echo and the spatial reverb presets were switched.
  • chorus – there were two presets that were exactly the same
  • bass chorus – only fixes to the spelling of preset names
  • bouncing echo – only minor adjustments to decays
  • simple reverb – only minor adjustments, mostly to brightness
  • reverb - mostly changes to the room size
  • graphic equalizer – the graphic equalizer bands were changed slightly, to more precisely split the frequency spectrum exponentially. This introduced one more band in the lower spectrum and one less band in the high frequency spectrum, which required all presets to be shifted by a band
  • parametric equalizer – the parametric equalizer preset were changed to be more consistent with those of the graphic equalizer
  • notch filter – only a minor change
  • compressor – there were a number of changes to the compressor dialog and serious changes to the compressor presets. The larges ones were: increased the attack on drum presets, introduced a de-esser
  • noise gate - lowered thresholds so that they make sense

There were no changes to other presets. To the extent that some older presets are not a part of the current installation, they may remain on your computer. It would be best to uninstall previous versions before installing version 2.5.2.
