mic, 2016 04 29: On Windows 10 and certain versions of Linux, on computers with very high screen resolution, Orinj will show up with very small text, menus, buttons, and other controls. In general, these systems leave it up to the application to recognize the high number of dots per inch that the computer can handle. Unfortunately, Java 7 and Java 8 do not allow Orinj to do so – to recognize that the screen uses more than the standard, say, 96 DPI. Users of Windows and Linux can scale the display, but that scaling will not be used by all applications. It will specifically not be used by Orinj.

This is a known problem with Java and cannot be fixed through Orinj. Supposedly, Java 9 should correct this issue.

mic, 2016 06 07: Unfortunately, Java 9 is scheduled for release only in 2017, not soon.

We are testing Orinj on Java 9 and, yes, the problem is resolved. Java 9 does take care of the user zoom selection on high definition screens.

The next version of Orinj - version 4 - will be released to work with Java 7, 8, and 9.
