On Windows, Orinj permits the use of devices that are compatible with Steinberg's Audio Stream Input/Output (ASIO) protocol for transfer of audio data, both for playback and recording.

ASIO may reduce recording and playback latency.

ASIO compatible devices are displayed in the input device dialog for each session track and in the output device dialog for the session.

If a sound device provides both an ASIO compatible driver and another driver for the operating system, then both drivers will be available in the input or output device dialog. To use ASIO, select the ASIO driver.
