Forums:

The following are changes between the previous version 7.0.5 and this version 7.0.6 of Orinj.

  • Fixed playback and recording of 24-bit audio on Windows. This was a known issue (/wiki/orinj-known-issues), where the Windows native implementation of Java does not handle 24-bit audio. This change to Orinj bypasses Java until a better Java implementation is available. Also removed the controls for playing or recording 24-bit data as 16-bit data, which are now not necessary
  • Enabled VST on Mac OS
  • Making sure that the device properties dialog (see Preferences) opens devices when checking device properties. On some operating systems, this is necessary to ensure that the correct properties are obtained
  • Fixed the handling of MIDI events for panning, pitch bend, key pressure, and channel pressure when converting MIDI to wave
  • Made sure converting MIDI to wave stops for MIDI sequences of zero length (e.g., empty MIDI files)
  • Fixed how MIDI pitch bend messages show in the MIDI control line
  • Fixed notes that release early when converting MIDI to wave. There was a difference between how the note was treated in the left and the right channels. Also, made sure these notes actually stop on note off
  • Fixed how presets (instruments) are found in certain soundfont files, as there was confusion between percussion and melodic instruments
  • Changed the dialog that adds notes to MIDI files to remove key pressure events. Those will be handled differently, as multiple key pressure events are needed to create the typical vibrato effect. Changed how key pressure messages are drawn on screen and selected
  • Changed the MIDI control line to remove channel pressure events. Those will be handled differently, as multiple key pressure events are needed to create the typical vibrato effect
  • Changed some MIDI dialogs to show whether a selected channel is percussive (channel 10) or melodic (other channels). Changed the MIDI note dialog to show percussion instruments when selecting the percussion channel. Removing the octave drop-down box from the same dialog
  • Fixed saving waves under a different name in the single wave view so that, when an error occurs, the last folder where saving is successful is still remembered
  • Fixed the painting of focus for radio buttons under the Candy skin
  • Fixed the focus order of the input device dialog
  • Fixed spinners on Linux as, under some skins, they could show up with white font on white background
