Forums:

With version 8.0.2, Orinj includes self-contained installations for Windows and Debian based Linux systems (e.g., Ubuntu). These installations do not require Java, as the needed Java components are distributed with the installations. The zipped file installation still requires Java.

The following are changes between the previous version 8.0.1 and this version 8.0.2 of Orinj.

  • Changed the Orinj mix order so that side chained effects are properly applied in the right place in the effect order
  • Changed side chained compressor to better handle differences between the attack and compression thresholds, so that there is less oscillation between attack and release
  • Made another fix to the side chained compressor as there was a difference between the left and right channels
  • Made a fix to the opening of sessions of different length to properly set controls for the right number of tracks
  • Made a minor fix when setting volume and pan in the loop building view to properly account for the total number of tracks
  • Added a warning when premixing tracks with a side chained effect. Tracks are premixed individually, and so side chaining would not work well
  • Disallowed the premixing of auxiliary channels. The premixing of an auxiliary channel will require the premixing of other tracks and will not work in the current structure
  • Fixed the creating of a new session to set the number of tracks to the default and to remove auxiliary channels left from prior sessions
  • Fixed the splitting of loops to export only tracks that have hits
  • Fixed the mixing of loops to ignore long tracks if those tracks are muted
  • Enabled the opening of MP3 files in the single wave view
  • Added a label to the Orinj Reverb to show the approximate total reverb length
  • Removed certain old code that was used in previous version but was not relevant in this version
