The changes between the previous version 4.1.3 and this version 4.1.4 are largely cosmetic. They affect only how Orinj looks, but not how Orinj works. These changes are to streamline the user interface, but also to prepare Orinj for some future, more modern skins.

  • In the infinite impulse response filters, made sure that the graphs of the magnitude response do not extend below the dedicated graph space (below -60 dB). This applies to the band pass filter, band stop filter, high pass filter, and low pass filter
  • Fixed the upper and lower limits of the frequency sliders and width sliders in the same filters. Also fixed these limits in the generators
  • Fixed a potential notch in the graph of the band stop filter, which would show because of issues with precision
  • Changed the layout of the dialogs for effects slightly to allow more space for the effect controls (moved the bypass check box)
  • Fixed the labels of the gain slider of the shelving filter. In previous versions, these would not show
  • Made sure that info areas in effect dialogs use the same font size (in the Orinj compressor, reverb, and parametric equalizer)
  • Made sure that effect dialogs (and other nonmodal dialogs, if any) are closed when switching between views
  • Changed the comment box in the dialog for marker properties dialog – set the font to the same font used by the rest of Orinj, added scroll bars when the comment is larger, allowed line wrapping
  • Made fixes in the Effect menus in all views to remove unnecessary separators
  • Added scroll bars in the dialogs for input and output devices. These would rarely be useful, as Orinj will rarely work with that many devices, but they should be there just in case
  • Made minor changes to the volume, pan, dry mix, and wet mix controls in the track control panel to the left of the track in the loop building view (/wiki/orinj-loop-building-view), single wave view (/wiki/orinj-single-wave-view), and multitrack view (/wiki/orinj-multitrack-session-view), to make sure various parts work together and look like one single control
  • Fixed the layout of the track control panels to the left of tracks in the loop building view, as there were some slightly overlapping controls
  • Aligned the components in the pane to the left of the track in the MIDI roll view
  • Aligned the components in the panel with times at the bottom
  • Made some minor changes in how the controls to the left of the track in the single wave view are initialized. This was mostly to reduce the amount of work done by Orinj when opening wave files
  • Changed the popup menu in the MIDI roll view so that the menu is different depending on whether the user clicked on a note, on a control, or on the track
  • Also changed some of the commands in the same popup menu so that it is easier to know what these commands do
  • Changed all popup menus to show the right separators depending on the commands that are shown
  • In general, reduced the use of Orinj specific fonts. The fonts used are now those suggested by the look and feel or the system
  • Similarly reduced the use of borders (especially heavier etched or bevel borders)
  • Simplified the bottom portion of Orinj to reduce the use of toolbars
  • Fixed a bug that would cause Orinj to crash when recording MIDI to wave
